Pool nodes are based in an EU data center, powered by renewable energy. Servers are placed in a high-available cluster adjacent to the hardware of the biggest HFT firms. Every component of the system is fault-tolerant and backed up. Our robust setup benefits from industrial grade 24/7 monitoring bound to the Cardano services. If anything goes wrong with a node — another one kicks in immediately with next to zero downtime.

Relays are connected to data centre networking with fibre optics. Currently this allows for an average response time of 372 ms from all HYGGE nodes.

The Cardano blockchain is quite lightweight for now, but both networking and compute times are going to be crucial when we reach the state of Alonzo rollout with smart contracts and possibly — mass adoption. We have already won one slot battle over a block in the spring and we expect more of such events in the future.

Inside our heads

Hygge is a concept of Danish origin, which can be described as a feeling of happiness through simple things. To ensure that both us and pool participants have the means to achieve such state, technical operations have been implemented in such a way that human interaction is almost unnecessary, meaning that it doesn’t break and we never miss a block.

Cardano project stood out and made sense from the very beginning. Scientific approach to the engineering together with a vast number of resources, simply set Cardano to success.

Butterfly effect is motivating us to develop and educate. We are willing to do our part to contribute to the project, which in our opinion, is as significant to the world’s communication and financial interaction as JavaScript was to the Internet.

Community around Cardano and HYGGE pool is one of the most constructive and encouraging crowds we have ever met. This is the reason why we will continue to develop, refine and build more for the community.
